Whitebread PLC | Received Approval to Construct a 157 - Room Premier Inn Hotel in Outer Dublin, Ireland

Whitebread PLC, British multinational hotel and restaurant company headquartered in Houghton Regis, England, UK, has received approval to construct a 157 - room Premier Inn hotel in Outer Dublin, Ireland.

This development is part of Whitebread's strategy to expand Premier Inn's presence in Ireland where the company aims to establish 5.000 hotel rooms.

Premier Inn Limited owned by Whitebread PLC is the Great Britain's biggest hotel brand founded in 1987 as Travel Inn to compete with Travelodge UK, a brand well known for offering quality accommodation at affordable prices.

The British hospitality company acquired the site for the new hotel in December 2023 with the aim to expand its network of Premier Inn hotels in Dublin since opening its first location in the city centre in November 2021.

The future hotel will be located at 5 Arkle Road in Sandyford Business Park, Outer Dublin, in Sandyford Business District, a suburb of the Irish capital situated in the county of Dún - Laoghaire - Rathdown, an area in notable expansion now hosting over 1.000 national and multinational companies, a leading hub for economic development that will continue to be a key location for start - ups and foreign direct investment. 

The hotel will feature between five and eight storeys and the current occupant of Arkle Road site, the Wall Climbing Gym, has secured a new location within the business park. Whitebread PLC is coordinating with the tenant top maintain operations until demolition and construction commence in early 2026.

Currently, Whitebread PLC, operates five Premier Inn in Dublin, including a large facility near Dublin Airport. and company also opened its first hotel outside the Irish capital in Cork City Centre in 2024.

The British group plans further expansion in Ireland targeting 11 locations with strong leisure and business markets. These locations include relevant centres such as Galway, Kilkenny, Killarney, Kinsale, Limerick, Sligo, Tralee, Waterford, Westford and Wexford.
