H World Group Limited, a hotel management company based in Shanghai, China, a key player in the global hospitality industry unveiled a portfolio expansion in Southeast Asia with the future opening of three new JI hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
These developments are part of the company's strategy to strengthen its presence in the region, where the group has been expoanding its operations with recent activities including the signing of Steigenberger Phnom Penh in July 2025 and its entry in the Laotian market in May 2025, following multiple hotel signings, opperations that also marks H World Group Limited’s first entry into the Malaysian market, further expanding its footprint in the region.
The three hotels will enter into the JI Hotel brand known for offering relaxing lodgings with plenty of space for personal travel preferences. Natural materials and colours create a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in public areas and in private rooms alike.

The JI Hotel Downtown Kuala Lumpur - Developed in partnership with Saadiq Tri Venture, a Malaysian company specializes in property investment and letting out of properties, the hotel is expected to open in Q4 2026 in the Dang Wangi district, a strategic, busy area in Central Kuala Lumpur, known for its LRT Station, and its proximity to attractions like the KL Tower and Kampung Baru. The area encompasses the bustling Jalan Dang Wangi, which blends traditional culture with modern allure, offerting various eateries, shops, and a gateway to iconic sites.
The hotel will feature 101 comfortable rooms, featuring the latest JI Hotel 5.0 design, which blends oriental aesthetics with modern comfort and amenities.
The JI Hotel Phnom Penh City Center - The hotel will be situated in the central business and government of Phnom Penh, centred around the areas with high concentrations of formal businesses, and government buildings, including the Royal Palace, the Council of Ministers, and the main financial and economic zones where significant investment and economic activity occur.
This 130 - room property will transform an existing building into a new benchmark for midscale hospitality and it is scheduled to open in Q1 2026.
The JI Hotel Phnom Penh Mekong Riverside - The hotel overlooking the Mekong River with an easy access to the major Phnom Penh cultural and historical landmarks will be a new - build with 110 comfortable rooms.
The property expected to open in Q3 2026 will combine river - view dining with local cultural experiences integrating in its design Khmer cultural elements with JI Hotel’s philosophy of oriental aesthetics, aiming to create a distinctive stay experience in the Cambodian city.
The future opening of these hotels follow the company’s previous expansion in Asia Pacific, including the opening of its first hotel in Cambodia, MAXX Phnom Penh Dowtown, in December 2024.
The announcement also coincides with the sixth anniversary of the JI Hotel Orchard Road Singapore, the brand’s first overseas property.
