IHG Hotels & Resorts, well-known British multinational hospitality company headquartered in Windsor Berkshire, in partnership with V&A Waterfront, after a multi-million dollar redevelopment brings its prestigious InterContinental brand to Cape Town, major city of South Africa.
Following the renovation, the future Intercontinental Table Bay will open its doors in 2025 opening a new chapter for luxury hospitality in the African country, marking a milestone in IHG Hotels & Resort's portfolio.
The Table Bay Hotel was opened in 1997 by the iconic ex president Nelson Mandela and has always been a reference point for hospitality at national and international level since its opening.
The hotel, considered as one of the South African city's luxury more admired properties is located in the heart of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, a mixed-use destination in the oldest working port in the Southern Hemisphere, with Table Mountain as a stunning, scenic highlight in a 123-hectare urban area of Cape Town highlighted by a large number of restaurants, shops and attractions.
Following the refurbishment, the InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town will open in the fourth quarter of 2025 and build on the heritage of the property and write a new era of luxury hospitality in the country and will be managed by Sun International under a hotel management agreement.
Boasting breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Table Mountain and the harbor, the hotel will provide 306 rooms including 45 suites, a poolside bae, an elevated terrace, an exclusive spa center and an the Intercontinental Executive Loyalty Club floor and lounge while all the reception spaces and restaurants will be reinvented.
