Air Europa | Increase in Winter Offer with Almost 6 Million Seats Available


Air Europa Lineas Aéreas, S.A.U, branded as Air Europa, member of the alliance Skyteam, headquarted in Llucmajor - Mallorca, the third – largest Spanish airline after Iberia and Vueling has announced that the increase in the offer regarding the company's winter schedule will be equal to 9%.

As far as the European continent is concerned, there will be over 1.7 million seats thanks also to the flight to Venice in the winter season.

 Also important is the increase in the offer to the Americas with a new flight to Santiago de los Caballeros, the second most populated city in the Dominican Republic and third in the Caribbean area as well as an increase in frequencies to Panama, Caracas capital of Venezuela, Asunción, capital of Paraguay and Salvador de Bahia, Brazilian city situated in the Northeast State of Bahia.

On long-haul flights, the airline will continue to bet on its Dreamliner fleet, the first airliner with an airframe primarily made of composite materials and makes greater use of electrical systems to which a new unit was added last August, while Boeing 737, the smallest and most popular jetliner in the Boeing family, will be used on short and medium-haul routes.

Florence | Tourism Week – From 08th to 15th November 2024

 

Florence, stunning capital of Italy's Tuscany region cradle and home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture, an inspiring destination unique in the world will be the stage of the Tourism Week hosting two key events dedicated to the sector from 08th to 15th November.

From 08th to 09th November the International Tourism Forum will be held, an event that will offer a very important opportunity for discussion between Institutions, Associations and Companies in the tourism sector, to bring to the table of the ministerial meeting the requests of those who work in the tourism industry.

This event will represent a sort of "Outside the G7", an optimal way to open the G7 to the world of tourism and arrive at the appointment with the contribution of the entire tourism sector.

The Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè commented that listening and sharing are a trademark of this government, which is why it was decided to involve the Associations and companies by meeting them in Florence a few days before the G7 to bring their contribution on such an important international stage, recognizing, once again, the centrality of the sector.

The G7 Tourism Summit to be held from 13th to 15th November, a unique event of its kind for the first time in history, will feature the G7 Ministers of Tourism, such as Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, Italy, the United States of America flanked by the European Union who will meet among the Renaissance palaces and medieval streets of Florence which represents in all its essence a universal symbol of historical, artistic and cultural beauty.

This very important meeting will focus on the challenges and opportunities of the tourism sector in an era of great change with a focus also on issues related to new strategies to promote sustainable tourism, between the tradition of Italian identity excellence and the innovation of AI, artificial intelligence.

In the coming days, the Ministry will announce how to participate in the Forum and how to accredit for the press for both events.

Lisbon Awarded as Europe's Best Culinary Destination 2024

 

Lisbon, capital and largest city of Portugal located on the western end of the Iberian Peninsula at the estuary of the Tagus River, a center boasting a cultural, historical and artistic heritage of enormous importance has won for the first time the award as the best culinary destination in Europe at the World Culinary Awards, recognition received during a ceremony held in Dubai, city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates.

The World Culinary Awards, which celebrated their fifth edition in 2024 twin event of the WTA, the World Travel Awards, is the most prestigious recognition  programme in the culinary industry, it serves to celebrate, promote reward culinary excellence and also to encourage gastronomic tourism.

Lisbon won this coveted award in an event where cities of considerable importance such as Barcelona, Copenhagen, Florence, London, Paris and Vienna stood out.

After the awarding of this prestigious title, Lisbon Tourism, the organization that promotes the Portuguese city internationally as a tourist destination commented that Lisbon has long been recognized for its diversified and quality offer with a wide and varied offer consisting of typical and local restaurants offering traditional food and restaurants of Muchelin starred chefs who reinterpret the classic flavours with creativity, imagination and new culinary trends.

The Mayor of Lisbon Carlos Moedas said that there is great pride to see the identity and traditions of Lisbon in this sector awarded for the first time and to see how innovation is combined with these gastronomic traditions.

The award is a recognition of the quality of gastronomy in which Lisbon stands out encouraging all professionals in the sector to keep it alive.

Hidalgo – Mexico | Development of the Vision 2040 Tourism Plan

 

Hidalgo, central Mexican sprawling state north of Mexico City, well known for its rich cultural and historic heritage highlighted by colonial, baroque and neoclassical buildings, dramatic landscapes with its Mountain Corridor devoted to ecotourism, outdoor activities such as camping, extreme sports, a state with a centuries – old mining tradition, boasting archeological sites through State Administration Leaders,  service providers, Presidents and Municipal Directors participated in the presentation of the Strategic Plan to elevate Hidalgo as a tourism powerhouse with a vision for 2040.

The Plan with Vision 2040 in Hidalgo proposes positioning strategies in national and international markets, hotel investments and connections with wholesale operators to become a reference point in sustainable tourism with the aim of consolidating itself in the high positions of the Mexican tourism ranking.

The primary objectives are to significantly increase tourism competitiveness, which generates greater added value for the attraction of visitors, plans to work in coordination between the sectors involved, as well as analyze and apply successful policies and strategies in international destinations that have points in common or similarities with the State of Hidalgo, in particular on issues concerning sustainability, climate change and inbound tourism among others.

Linked to that the Leader of State Tourism Elizabeth Quintanar Gómez indicated that the Secretariat has opened a bridge of constant communication with the 84 municipalities of the State of Hidalgo with the intention of supporting the creation of the Municipal Plans for Sustainable Tourism and consequently generating actions in the dissemination and promotion of tourism.

In these meetings it will be possible to establish optimal methods to move forward within the same framework and direct the entity towards tourism potential.

As part of the strategic plan with vision 2040, the Directors and Presidents set the limit as to how much they want the Tourism State to help with a message that there is no separation, we are all together in the same sector, Spas, the INAH, hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, all involved in this noble activity named tourism.
