Tierra del Fuego National Park on the Argentine
part of the island of Tierra del Fuego, within Tierra del Fuego Province in the
ecoregion of Patagonic Forest and Altos Andes, a part of the subantarctic
forest which protects 68.909 hectares and is the only one in the country that
combines marine, forest and mountain evironments, additionally featuring
lakes,valleys and extensive peat bogs
as part of the tourism activities for summer season, launched a special
promotion on the entrance fees.
In this way, since 6th January 2025 the access fees
to the park will be 30.000 pesos, just over €28 for international visitors,
9.000 pesos for Argentine residents and 5.000 pesos for local residents.
It should be noted that the following categories
are exempt from payment, local residents in this case from Ushuaia, children
under 6 years of age, educationl visits, people with disabilities, retirees and
pensioners, Malvinas / Falklands Veterans, Guides and Coordinators.
In this regard, the President of INFUETUR, the
Official Tourism Authority of the province of Tierra del Fuego said that the
organitazion is taking step to reduce the value of the entrance fee to the
park, achieving the important agreement in favour of the development of the
tourist season in the province, inviting the visitors to tour this relevant
natural reserve enjoying the unique nature of the so called "End of the
World" thanking the Secretary of Tourism of Argentina Daniel Scioli and
the President of National Parks Crstian Larsen, for giving rise to INFUETUR
requirement.
The President of the National Parks Administration
said that with the aim of promoting nature tourism and positioning Argentina as
a first - class tourism destination, there is a promotion for the entrance to
Tierra del Fuego National Park which aims to increase the number of local and
international tourists who decide to visit it in this season.
For this same reason is that in November 2024 the
"flexipass" was incorporated which allows the price of two days,
visitors can stay three days ; for the price of three and half days, a whole
week and an unlimited annual pass, for the price of five days.
Tierra del Fuego National Park situated 12
kilometres west of Ushuaia, the southernmost city located on the southwest
coast of the Beagle Channel, between the Martial Range and the "End of the
World" along National Route No.3, is the only National Park in Argentine
located between the mountains and the sea.
Visitors can travel through different natural
spaces among sub - Antarctic landscapes, in a land greatly highlighted by deep
valleys, stunning coasts, splendid, centuries - old forests, peat bogs and also enjoing
a magnificent lake located between two mountain ranges.
One of the most visited points in Lapataia Bay, a
scenic spot of Tierra del Fuego National Park located about 20 minutes drive
from Ushuaia downtown highlighted by deserted beaches, gliterring waters, rocky
isles and bordered by the snow - capped peaks of the Southern Andes, the most
southern point of the longest motorway on the planet,where the sign that signals the end of
National Route No. 3 is located.
Tierra del Fuego National Park is a paradise for
trekking lovers, it boasts a network of signposted trails of approximately 40.0
kilometres that vary in length and degree of difficulty offering a large
options for this kind of fascinating, outdoor activity.
In addition, the End of the World Train, offering a
very short journey that only travels a total of 7.0 kilometres but it has a very
interesting history and it brings travellers through the landscapes of the
Tierra del Fuego National Park, learning about the history of Tierra del Fuego
aboard a steam locomotive reaching an unforgettable place at the end of the
South American continent.
