The XVII Edition of the National Festival of the "I borghi più belli d' Italia", the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy will be held in 2025 in Bellano, a splendid small town on the eastern shore of Lake Como in the province of Lecco in Lombardy situated at northern oulet of the Valsassina, close by the beautiful Dervio and well known for its "Orrido" a spectacular gorge formed through erosion by the river Pioverna.
The announcement was made in Calabria at the end of the 16th edition which took place in the "borghi" of Rocca Imperiale and Oriolo in the province of Cosenza.
The Regional Councillor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion of Lombardy Barbara Mazzali commented that in 2025 Lombardy will host this great event that will bring together all the Italian regions, the mayors of the villages of the Association, numerous stakeholders and will be a remarkable opportunity to relaunch the region as a land of villages with a strong tourist vocation.
Nowadays in Italy there are 326 certified "borghi",Lombardy boasts 26 localities that are part of this association and is the second Italian region for the number of small municipalities with 1038 many of which can certainly aspire to enter the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
