Uruguay, South American country well known for its splendid beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and its verdant interior with extensive plains, river basins, low hill ranges and various lagoons through the Undersecretary of Tourism Remo Monzeglio has reviewed the benefits that international tourists will have on their trip to Uruguay during the 2025 summer season.
The Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay has launched the proposal for this period in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires where Uruguay presented its offer of destinations and activities in front of prominent gifures from the world of entertainment, business and politics within the framework of the celebration of the Characters of 2024 of the magazine Gente.
This event was headed by the Undesecretary of Tourism of Uruguay who highlighted the most outstanding news that international visitors will be able to enjoy in the South American country declaring that the decree that reduces the entire VAT on consumption in gastronomy and car rental without a driver to non – resident tourists who pay through credit or debit cards issued abroad has already come into force until 30th April 2025, so this benefit will be in force throughout the season.
During the event in addition the Undersecretary of Tourism recalled that international tourists will not pay VAT on accommodation either.
Uruguay’s National Director of Tourism Roque Baudeán, said thar for the Ministry of Tourism and for all who in some ways work for the tourism sector, to be together with the magazine Gente and particularly at the Characters of the Year event, is a relevant showcase for all those who love invest and choose Uruguay for their vacations.
The General Director of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay Ignacio Curbelo said that an important achievement of this management in the investment guide developed together with the United Nations, which is a powerful tool to show the world the advantages of investing in Uruguay, investment in tourism is declared to be of national interest,offering attractive tax incentives for investors.
