Marriott International | To Introduce The Ritz - Carlton Brand in Xiamen Island, China

 

Marriott International, Inc, American multinational company headquartered in Bethesda - Maryland, hospitality group that franchises, licences and operates lodging brands that includes hotel, resort, residential and timeshare properties has signed an agreement with Xiamen Green Development Group, Chinese Central Government - owned Enterprise with diversified equity to introduce the Ritz Carlton brand in Xiamen Island, in the Fujian Province, alternately known as Amoy Island located on the Taiwan Strait.

This move by Marriott International is part of company's ongoing commitment to expand its brand presence across a relevant market in Asia, like Southern China and introducing Ritz – Carlton, upscale brand which consistently earned top recognition across the world's most influential entities which set the benchmark for quality, satisfaction and business performance.

This agreement undoubtedly marks a significant expansion of Marriott International's footprint in Xiamen, a relevant port city and popular tourist destination , actively developing its marine high sector and now with five properties in the region, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

The new Ritz – Carlton is part of a large mixed - use development project that includes retail spaces, a 340 - metre office tower set to be the tallest landmark in Xiamen, and Marriott Executive Apartments for extended – stay options.

The hotel will be located in the Siming District occupies the southern half of Xiamen Island, conveniently situated near Xiamen Gaoqi Airport, a metro station, various local eateries and retail shops, close to key corporate and leisure hubs, making it an attractive destination for business and leisure travellers, and the nearby Xiamen First Pier provides ferry access to the UNESCO World Heritage – listed Gulangyu Island.

The Ritz – Carlton, Xiamen will feature 228 rooms including 35 suites, with sea views from them, dining options, a grand ballroom, meeting rooms, a 25 – metre indoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a spa.

The Marriott Executive Apartments Xiamen designed for long - term business travellers and families will be located below the Ritz - Carlton Hotel, will feature fully furnished apartments, a Residents Lounge, a shared swimming pool with the hotel, a private meeting room and a fitness centre.
