Minor Hotels | Revealed the Future Debut of its Tivoli Hotels & Resorts Brand in Mérida, Mexico

Minor Hotels, an international hotel owner, operator and investor founded in 1978 and headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, a hospitality group which boasts a large portfolio with properties all around the world, revealed the future debut of its Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand in Mérida, vibrant capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán.

The Tivoli Mérida Residences scheduled to open its doors in 2027 will be the brand's first establishment in Mexico, and the third in Latin America, after its two properties opened in Brazil.

The development will combine hospitality, history, luxury and modernity and is part of the Casona 333 complex, a carefully restored heritage from 1903, which will house common areas such as the reception, bar, piano lounge and a boulangerie.

The project with international vision will be developed by Designia, a company with vast experience in residential and tourism projects in the southeast of Mexico, supported by key figures in the hospitality development industry such as Victor Abraham and José Zahoul who have promoted the growth of the sector in the Yucatán.state and participated in developments such as Avani Cancun, an establishment also part of the portfolio of Minor Hotels. 

The future property will be part of the brand Tivoli Hotels & Resorts founded in 1933 in Portugal, a luxury hotel brand known for its unique experiences and timeless, classic elegance combining with the unique atmosphere of each location reflecting the savoire faire of generations of hoteliers, emphasizes immersing guests in the local culture and offering insider knowledge of each destination.

The complex will be composed of 69 private residences accurately designed to offer the maximum comfort, providing a restaurant, spa, gym, swimming pool with bar, luxury store, gardens and events spaces.

The establishment will open its doors in Mérida, known as "The White City", the largest city in southeastern Mexico and capital of the state of Yucatán, a centre with a rich Mayan and colonial heritage, well known for its colorful buildings, European and colonial plateresque style architecture, wide walkable streets, lively plazas, a cultural and gastronomic epicenter, recently voted as "Best Destination in Mexico" at the food & Travel readers and Awards and in proximity to relevant archaeological sites.

The future Hotel Tivoli Mérida will arise along the iconic Paseo de Montejo, named after Francisco de Montejo, the Spanish conquistador who founded the city in in 1542, a grand, tree - lined avenue of about 6.0 kilometres, inspired by the Champs Élyseés in Paris, known for the presence of stylish mansions, refined hotels, grand buildings, fine restaurants, and  considered one of the most attractive avenues in Mexico, representing a key feature of Mérida's identity. 

The prime location offers an easy access to the major key attractions and landmarks of the city such as Plaza Grande, Cathedral of San Ildefonso, the Government Palace, the City Hall Palace, Iglesia de la Tercera Orden, Maya World Museum, Casa de Montejo and just 20 minutes from Mérida International Airport

With all that and more the Tivoli Mérida Residences promises to have a great impact in the attractive and vibrant Mérida enriching the city with its outstanding brand.
