Brazil | Solo Female Travellers Encouraged by Special Rates in Hotels Across the Country

Brazil, the largest and most populous country in South and Latin America offers a multitude of opportunities to explore new destinations, strengthen the autonomy of the visitors and travelling alone that has become increasingly common among Brazilian women and the nation is encouraging solo female travellers by special rates in hotels across the country.

This growing trend with, with many women of all ages and backgrounds embracing the freedom and independence of exploring the world on their own, and it is more than a leisure choice, this practice represents self - confidence, empowerement, living unique and authentic experiences in autonomy and much more.

That's exactly what Marise Siqueira, a 44 - year old civil servant, felt when she embarked on her first solo adventure and travelling alone was an amazing experience for Marise, who said that it was about breaking down barriers both internal and external.

Marise started to consider the idea when she realized that could more find anyone to travel with and she orgamized herself to reach and visit the sprawling city of Rio de Janeiro, although some tried to dissuade her. She planned everything carefully, visiting Rio's tourist attractions alone and everything went well, coming back home delighted and even more eager to discover other destinations.

Inspired by stories like Marise's, the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with ABIH, the Brazilian Association of the Hotel Industry, launched a campaign offering a 15% discount on accommodation for solo female travellers.

The initiative is valid until March 2026 and aims to encourage solo female tourism with freater safety, comfort and savings.

The special rates are applied directly at the call centers of the participating hotels, upon declaration at the time of booking. The benefit is valid for accommodation in the "individual" category, including on holidays and large events, subject to availability at the establishments.

According to the Brazil's Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, the measure is also the way to boost the tourism sector, at all time of the year.

The Minister said that these actions will enhance tourism activity and create more opportunities for women who work in the area, in addition to encouraging those who want to travel alone, an incentive to get to know Brazil, with differentiated rates.

n addition, the Ministry of Tourism is also paying attention to women who start businesses in the sector and through Novo Fungetur, the General Tourism Fund, special financing conditions were established for businesswomen who recently became mothers.

The benefits include sole proprietors, micro - entrepreneurs, or those who opened a limited sole proprietorship within six months of the birth or adoption of a child.

Among the advantages is the possibility of suspending payments on existing loans for up to six months and extending the grace period for new loans.

The new conditions make access to credit more flexible, helping mothers to reconcile motherhood and business with greater peace of mind.
