Community of Madrid | Sustainability Promotion and Strengthening in the Tourism Sector

 

The Community of Madrid has launched a call for grants aimed at promoting and strengthening sustainability in the tourism sector by offering companies of this industry the opportunity to receive subsidies ranging from 25.000 to 300.000 euros.

With this considerable initiative, the tourist companies will have an exceptional opportunity to reduce their energy consumption and above all significantly improve their environmental impact.

These grants are intended to finance projects that progressively improve energy efficiency and optimally promote the circular economy, considered two fundamental pillars to progress towards a more responsible and environmentally friendly tourism.

All tourism companies that make significant improvements to the sustainability of their facilities will be able to benefit from these subsidies and one of the fundamental requirements to access these facilities is that the company must be able to improve at least one letter in the energy certification of its facilities, an action that implies a significant reduction in energy consumption and a lower environmental impact.

Projects that are eligible for these types of grants must include, but are not limited to, some fundamental points such as the implementation of technologies that reduce energy consumption, the installation of renewable energy systems, the improvement of the thermal insulation of offices and the development of recycling and reuse initiatives within the company.

All those projects not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also help and greatly support tourism companies to reduce operating costs and consequently improve their market operations.

The deadline for submitting applications has been set for September 20, 2024 and it is therefore essential that interested companies start the necessary procedures to benefit from these advantages as soon as possible.
