Vueling Airlines S.A., commercially Vueling, Spanish low-cost airline of IAG, International Airlines Group founded in 2004, based in Viladecans in Greater Barcelona with its main hub at Barcelona – El Prat Airport thanks to agreements with pilots and cabin crew, returns to growth by resuming the expansion plan and renewal of the fleet with the addition of three aircraft planned in 2025.
With these operations, the airline reactivates the renewal plan and its expansion after two years of stagnation in which it has been paralyzed by the failure to reach an agreement with the representatives of its workers to guarantee the profitability of the company and is optimistically preparing to plan its new growth.
The President and CEO of the International Air Group airline Carolina Martinoli underlined that the pre-agreement with the pilots is essential to compete in a sustainable way, anticipating that after the signing of the agreement, the company's development plans are in place and will start quickly.
Bound to all that, the President announced that Vueling will incorporate three additional aircraft for the 2025 summer season, thus ending the freeze on fleet expansion that had plagued the airline.
Vueling's Top Executive then explained that in the coming weeks more details will be released regarding the additional growth plan that will begin to be implemented in the summer, there will be future growth even if the final number of aircraft included will depend on its parent company, International Air Group, which decides on the fleet allocation strategy.
Linked to all that the CEO of IAG Luis Gallego wanted to recall that the group has a model to follow which consists in determining where the capital is located and Vueling needed an agreement so that we could consider it in the equation emphasizing the pre-agreement with Sepla provides certainty on the cost forecast of the airline based in Greater Barcelona.
