Fiji, island country in Melanesia, part of Oceania, an archipelago of more than 300 idyllic, exotic islands, famed for its palm - lined beaches, coral reefs with clear lagoons and rugged ladscapes continue to experience a significant tourism growth , surpassing pre – pandemic levels with a 6.5% increase in visitor numbers compared to last year.
This growth is driven by the success of Fiji’s global tourism campaign “Where Happiness Comes Naturally” and a growing demand for culturally, immersive travel experiences.
Projections for 2024 indicate that another record year has been signed, supported by the development of new accommodations, such as the Crowne Plaza Nadi and the Sofitel Vatu Talei Denarau, as well as the expansion of Fiji Airways.
Fiji Tourism recently introduced Chapter 2 of its campaign “Happy Passports” which emphasises Fiji’s cultural vitality and natural beauty through key travel themes such as environment, adventure, community and gastronomy.
Fiji’s Tourism Chief Executive Brent Hill said that the success of tourism sector extends beyond the appeal of Fiji’s natural landscapes, highlighting the importance of genuine cultural connections and sustainable growth.
