Romania, southeastern European country well known for its rich cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, historical monuments in various cities, the forested region of Transylvania, ringed by the Carpathian Mountains recorded 7.666.000 million tourist arrivals in the first seven months of 2024, a figure that means an increase of 3.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
These impressive growth figures of Romania's tourism sector have been published by the INS, the National Institute of Statistics, Government Agency headquartered in Bucharest which is responsible for collecting national statistics in fields such as economy, demographics, geography and society among others.
Alongside these relevant data, there was also an increase in overnight stays which reached 15.97 million which also translates into an increase of 3.4% compared to last year.
These statistical data represent a constant and progressive recovery after the pandemic with a large movement of national and international tourists who are contributing greatly to the increase of tourism in Romania.
This success is highlighted by the charm of the varied tourist offer of this Eastern European country that offers the opportunity to discover many lively cities with a great historical and artistic heritage, unique landscapes, iconic castles and a fascinating countryside among others.
