Guanajuato, state located in Central Mexico boasting a rich, historic and cultural patrimony with several cities and towns highlighted by splendid colonial and baroque architecture, dramatic and varied landscapes across the Sierra Gorda, Los Altos, Sierra Central, el Bajio and Los Vallea Abajeños, boasting three of the 34 World heritage sites in the country such as the Historic City of Guanajuato and its adjacent mines, the Fortified city of San Miguel and the Sanctuary of Jesus Nazareno de Atotonilco is a consolidated destination in the MICE tourism,well prepared to attend high - level events.
Thanks to the qualification of the meeting industry Guanajuato positioned itself in fifth place in the national ranking among the 32 federal entities in Mexico including Mexico City which is a separate entity that is not formally a state.
The Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the State of Guanajuato Lupita Robles León has confirmed this achievement within the framework of the second Meetings Industry Policy Forum held in Mexico City.
At the event the Secretary was accompanied by the largest and most representative delegation of the state coming from Celaya, Guanajuato Capital, Irapuato, León, San Miguel de Allende and Silao, relevant destinations in the MICE industry.
The aforementioned event was developed with the aim of improving and boosting Mexico's competitiveness as a meeting destination, it consolidated in the discussion and analysis of themes linked to the challenges and opportunities faced by the country's meeting sector, allowed by the Ministry of Tourism and Identity to strengthen solid ties of collaboration and also drawning up planning and promotion strategies in order and in the case of Guanajuato State to position itself in the top ranking with key players in the industry.
The Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the State of Guanajuato has confirmed that the state demonstrated to offer a notable capability of responding to the needs and demands of organizers and participants of international and national events as well as elevating its leadership, capacity and commitment to the growth of the MICE industry in Mexico.
