Lisbon - Portugal | Carris Transportation Company Accepts Contacless Payments on City's Transports

 

Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa, E.M, S.A., better known and marketed by its acronym CCFL or simply as Carris , the public transportation company operating Lisbon's buses, trams and funiculars will accept payments on board using a contactless bank card.

The transport company founded in 1872 and operational since 1873 with the first tram line in the Portuguese city explains in a statement that it's possible payments with a contactless card, virtual or physical, for trips directly at the validators of all company vehicles, covering trams, buses and the three elevators present in the capital of Portugal.

The President of Carris Pedro Boga, declared that this is a historic day for Carris and for the mobility of Lisbon, with the introduction of payment by bank card, the company reinforces its commitment to improving the travel experience of its customers, thus ensuring greater conviniences and better accessibility when using the service of Carris.

The new payment oprion allows to purchase travel tickets for families ando also for small groups, of up to a maximum of 10 people, by selecting the desired number of tickets directly on the validator.
