Marriott International, American multinational company hearquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, which operates, manages and franchises hotels, resorts and vacation properties worldwide will open a JW Marriott all – inclusive resort in Costa Elena, Guanacaste, in Costa Rica.
The future opening is the result of an agreement with Mullen Real Estate Capital, investor in hospitality - focused, institutional real estate assets in the Americas, Caribbean and Europe founded in 2021 and based in Newton Square, PA, U.S.
Costa Elena is a, premium, resort - residential community in the province of Guanacaste in northwest Costa Rica, set on 3.000 acres of untouched tropical dry forest boasting about 16.0 kilometres of exclusive coastline and pristine beaches, approximately 78.0 kilometres from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport.
The property is expected to be one of the first JW Mariott all - inclusive resorts to open globally and future development plans include the potential introduction of JW Marriott - branded residences on an adjacent site, further enhancing the resort’s luxurious offerings.
The conversion is scheduled to begin in July 2025, and the resort is anticipated to join the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio in the Spring 2026 as a JW Marriott all - inclusive resort, part of luxury hotel brand, targeting mindful snd sophisticated travellers seeking experiences that foster connectioons and well - being. These properties are known for their beautiful locations, distinctive resort settings, and focus on enhancing the guest experience.
The resort positioned within the exclusive Costa Elena community boasts 885 feet of beach frontage will provide 415 rooms, 11 diverse food & beverage outlets, and 44.000 square feet of water amenities, including 17 swimming pools.
Guests will have access to other amenities like 10.000 square feet of indoor meeting space, a 16.000 - square - foot spa reflecting the brand’s wellness philosophy, and a state - of - the - art fitness centre.
Marriott International Vice President, CALA, Caribbean and Latin America, Uriel Burak, said that this introduction of the JW Marriott All - Inclusive Resort is a significant step for Marriott International.
This project begins a strategic collaboration with Mullen Real Estate Capital, a pioneer in the all - inclusive sectoe within the CALA region.

The Latin American country development with several imitiatives and improvements continues to rise and Marriott International taking advantage of this positive moment of Costa Rica signed 10 deals in 2024 representing 1.086 rooms in its portfolio.
By year - end Marriott International had 22 open properties across 15 brands in Costa Rica, with more expected to open this year.
