Boston, U.S. | “Wicked Passionate”, the Flagship Cocktail of the City

Boston, the capital and most populous city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the U.S, city that serves as the cultural and financial centre of New England, a region of the Northeastern United States, built on a series of peninsulas connected by bridges and underwater tunnels at the confluence of the Charles and Mystic Rivers, where they into the Atlantic, the site of the American Revolution, centre boasting a notable cultural and art scene, home to the Harvard and MIT, unveiled its flagship cocktail named “Wicked Passionate”.

Following an exciting city - wide poll that invited the Boston community to create the perfect marathon -  inspired cocktail, View Boston, the city’s most prestigious observation deck, announced the selection of a winning drink to represent the spirit of Boston iconic race, the Boston Marathon, famous for being the world’s oldest annual marathon, a prestigious event, and a key part of Boston’s cultural identity. 

Featuring Flecha Azul Tequila, an ultra - premium tequila filled with 150 years of history and heritage, aged for six months in ex - bourbon American oak barrels, from proud Bostonian Mark Wahlberg, this newly awarded drink pays homage to the city’s resilience, passion, and historic race - day traditions.

Boston’s flagship cocktail “Wicked Passionate” selected from proposals from across the city, embodied Boston’s bold energy with a refreshing blend of Blue White Arrow, Cointreau, passion fruit puree, pineapple juice, coconut water, agave and lime juice.

Designed to celebrate runners and spectators alike, this cocktail will be served in a collectable souvenir glass and was presented exclusively at View Boston during the marathon weekend and a non - alcoholic version, called the Mile Marker Mocktail, is also available.

Mark Wahlberg, lead investor at Flecha Azul said that when he learned that Bostonians were creating a cocktail for the marathon together as a community he joint them, excited to collaborate with View Boston on this, and hoping that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the cocktail and view from their observation deck.

Senior Marketing Manager at View Boston, Mackenzie Finn, said that was impressive the creativity and enthusiasm of the Boston Community helping to create this special cocktail. 

When the survey was launched, a large number of responses were tequila - based drinks and this motivate the organization to partner with Flecha Azul Tequila, a high quality brand endorsed by a Boston celebrity.
