Moura, a Portuguese border town belonging to the district of Beja, located in the Alentejo region, a hisitorical a cultural land of south - central and southern Portugal, situated close the River Guadiana, surrounded by picturesque, undulating hills, planted with extensive olive - groves, inaugurated its new Tourist Office at the Nautical Station of Moura - Alqueva, which will function as a strategic point for promoting the tourist potential of the territory as indicated the municipality in its official website.
This new infrastructure aims to strengthen the reception and support for tourists visiting this area of the Moura, famous for the Alqueva Dam, a vast mass of water reaching as far as the eye can see, surrounded by an enviable natural landscape with a reservoir measuring 250 km² , the largest dam and artificial lake in Western Europe.
With this initiative Moura takes another step in the enhancement of the Nautical Station of Moura - Alqueva recognized by the Network of Nautical Stations of Portugal which boasts a central leisure platform, a river beach and a motorhome park, reinforcing its relevance and creating better information and reception conditions for all those choose this place for leisure, sports or discovery the territory.
The new tourist office thus intends to enhance the natural, cultural and heritage resources of Moura, contributing to its affirmation as a tourist destination of excellence in the Alentejo region and the Great Alqueva Lake.
The tourist office will be open to the public every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, ensuring regular and continuous service to visitors.
