IHG Hotels & Resorts, British multinational hospitality company based in Windsor, Berkshire, England, U.K. will open its first Kimpton hotel in Bali, idyllic destination and province of Indonesia, the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands, well known for its traditional vibrant culture, Balinese Hinduism, cuisine, pristine beaches, scuba diving, a rich marine life, stunning rock formations and luxury accommodation.
The hotel, named Kimpton Bali Ubud will open its doors in the heart of Ubud, a town in the Gianyar Regency in the uplands of Bali located the northern part of the Greater Denpasar metropolitan area, a centre known for traditional crafts and dance, highlighted by the surrounding Ubud District’s rainforest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines.
Developed in collaboration with PT Mustika Adiperkasa, a company based in South Jakarta and GHS KK, group involved in operating public hotels and motels headquartered in Osaka, Japan, this luxury hotel, the first IHG hotel in Ubud, set open in early 2026 will join other IHG luxury properties opened in Bali like Regent Bali Canggu and Six Senses Uluwatu.
Kimpton Bali Ubud design integrates nature and Balinese heritage into its architecture and interiors and it is situated along the Wos River near Ubud Palace offering a tranquil retreat in the heart of the town.
The hotel will feature 101 comfortable rooms designed for a seamless integration with the surrounding landcape, three restaurants, including IMAMURA, a Japanese fine - dining experience by renowned Michelin - starred chef Hirofumi Imamura, a gym, spa and swimming pool for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The property will enter in the Kimpton Hotels brand, known for its design - led, boutique - style accommodations and a focus on personalized services and unique guest experiences. They offer playful design, upscale dining, unexpected amenities and aim to create a sense of delight and discovery, fostering genuine connections between guests and locals.
Kimpton brand stated that the hotel is seamlessy integrated into Ubud’s lush natural landscape representing a serene and inspiring retreat, where nature and local heritage are woven into every detail.
