Ottawa, Canada | Expanding Business Event Infrastructure Investing Over $1.5 Billion

Ottawa, Canada’s capital, the political centre of the North American country and the headquarters of the federal government, located in southeastern Ontario in the eastern extreme of the province on the south bank of the Ottawa river, near the city of Montréal and the U.S. border, a centre known for its rich history, diverse culture and nature, boasting several parks and green spaces is significantly expanding its business event infrastructure, investing over &1.5 billion.

This relevant investment includes new venues, hotels and public infrastructure enhancements across the downtown core, aiming to attract more international events. The Canadian city is also improving air links with new and restored routes, making it more accessible for international travellers.

Air Canada has restored flights from London Heathrow, and Air France has launched a new service from Paris, improving accessibility from two leading European air hubs. 

Public and private sector projects are increasing Ottawa’s  capacity for conferences, meetings and large events. Developments include new cultural and entertainment facilities and upgrades to public infrastructures. 

Through the Ottawa Umlimited partnership formed by Ottawa Tourism, Invest Ottawa, and the Ottawa Board of Trade, the city is adding venue like the History Ottawa, a 2.000 - capacity venuea scheduled for 2026, and the Ādisōke central library and archive, which will offer spaces for receptions and workshops also opening next year.

Other downtown developments are the Hard Rock Hotel Ottawa boasting a 1.800 - seat theatre, new AC Marriott and Moxy hotels in the ByWard Market that notaby increase the hotel capacity in the Canadian capital.
