Sharjah International Airport located 13 km east - southeast of Sharjah, the third - most populous city in the United Arab Emirates after Dubai and Abu Dhabi, capital of the Emirate of the Emirate of Sharjah, the 3rd busiest airport in then country as well as the 10th busiest air hub in the Middle East hands out free SIM cards to travellers upon arrival.

Travellers at Sharjah Aiport are being gifted a free visitor SIM card will enable them to connect to the internet as soon ad they arrive. Each user receives 10 GB of free data, which is valid for 24 hours and this allows to essential apps like maps, taxi bookings, digital payments and messaging.
Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority Ali Salim Al Midfa said that this initiative underscores Sharjah Airport’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment that leaves a positive impression.
Sharjah Airport features a single, large passenger terminal covering 125.000 m² . It welcomed 5.1 million passengers in Q3 2025 and more than 9.1 million passengers during the first half of the current year marking a 10% increase compared to the same period of 2024. The airport is a major hub in the Middle East, home to the low - cost carrier Air Arabia and offering various facilities for travellers, including duty – free shopping, diverse dining options, and a spacious lounge.
