Tuscany, a land of artists,Michelangelo, Leonardo, Botticelli, Piero della Francesca, Brunelleschi and many others who have made history,history of art that millions of people fall in love in every period.The talent of the people of this beautiful region nestled between the hills dotted with vineyards and olive trees,bordered by the Apennines Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea continues today, wherever you go you can see artists also in a small town of the Siena Hills Montepulciano so famous for its "Vino Nobile"much vaunted in the history.
and because was filmed the movie "The Twilight Saga ; New Moon" by Chris Weltz.
But Montepulciano also creates mosaics and in particular Van Gogh Mosaics.We are not in Kalverstraat in Prinsengracht or in the Vondel Park where there is the Museum of the great Dutch painter, we are in a small town in Tuscany that is also art one of his trades for a living.When I visited this workshop with original and amazing works of art in mosaic of the famous painter of Zundert and I admired the great quality and talent of these people, of course I did those two gentlemen my compliments.They thanked me and told me: "Do you want to take here some tourists in Montepulciano? We can show them our entire collection of mosaics of Van Gogh.
Making mosaics is not easy at all, it is an ancient art that was born in Babylon and Assyria and then on particular developed during the Roman Byzantine, Ravenna and later in Venice.Shaping stones,colour them, assemble them, and creating a mosaic is a job only for real artists.
I suggest you go to Montepulciano or if you want I will take you there,you will see authentic pieces of art in
mosaics depicting the great Gogh and you will be amazed.
