The Azores, an autonomous region of Portugal, archipelago situated in the Atlantic Ocean composed of nine volcanic islands in the Macaronesia region approximately 1.400 kilometres west of the capital of the country Lisbon recently presented the new Azores Tourism portal which centralizes on a single official website, a wide range of services and contents related to the tourist activity of the archipelago.
This portal was created as an innovative platform that centralizes data that was previously dispersed in multiple channels in order to offer a more integrated and efficient experience for all users who, in the case of a search for data of interest, do not have to connect to another website.
In addition to concentrating all the relevant institutional information, from the current legislation on activity licenses and financial incentives, to the tourist services and resources under the responsibility of the Regional Directorate of Tourism, such as the Azores Routes and biking trails, the user can also consult the strategic instruments for the development of tourism in the region, including PEMTA 2030, the Strategic and Marketing Plan for Tourism in the Azores and the Sustainability Policy of the Azores.
From the Regional Secretariat of Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructure of the Azores, this new communication tool allows entrepreneurs and potential investors to access all regulatory and strategic information designed to guide developers in the planning and decision-making process of potential investments.
The new portal provides tools and resources that will allow the development of new tourism businesses and initiatives, although new resources will soon be made available that will allow many of the processes previously carried out via e-mail to be managed through the tourism platform.
With this new platform, the Regional Directorate of Tourism of the Azores aims to ensure a dynamic, modern and permanent channel of communication with all the public, reinforcing its commitment to promoting the sustainable development of the Portuguese archipelago by encouraging innovation and growth in the tourism sector.
