Baja California – Mexico | Elevating Itself as a Very Trendy, Tourist Destination

 

Baja California, Mexican State on the Baja California Peninsula, bordering the U.S, ranging stunning, varied landscapes from beaches on the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California to forests and deserts, nightlife and shopping destination in many of its centres with a economy heavily focused on export – oriented manufacturing with no customs duties with its privileged border location and cultural diversity,  has become a key player in Mexico's tourism sector, elevating itself as a very trendy tourist destination.

Linked to that the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Baja California, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodriguez commented that the state ins experiencing an unprecedented boom noting that contribuiting 8.2% of the state's GDP with the local tourism industry not only promotes economic growth, but also redefines the international perception of the region.

With positive prospectives, looking ahead to the end of 2024, the number of visitors to Baja California could be 28.2 million, in line with last year, slightly above almost 1% and as for the hotel occupancy factor it is at an average of 56%.

The Tijuana International Airport registered a transit of more than 14 million passengers, consolidating itself as a strategic hub and in addition the state generates 70% of Mexican wine making it a leader in the country's wine industry.

For the Secretary of Tourism one of the most anticipated milestones in the Tianguis Turistico 2025, which will take place from 28th April to 1st May, event promoting Mexico's wide variety of tourist destinations and products nationally and internationally which will mark a before and after in the promotion of Baja California as a demanded, international tourist destination.

The Secretary of Tourism said that when someone visits Baja California returns home as an amabassador for the destination, stressing that the Tianguis Turistico 2025 represents an extraordinary opportunity for the state, not only a platform to showcase Baja California's rich cultural and natural diversity, but also a catalyst for economic and tourism development.

In addition this event will be for the first time Binational, Mexico and the United States of America will attract visitors from all over the world, allowing them to experience first – hand the innovation and hospitality that characterize the region.

The tourism strategy of Baja California includes significant improvements in infrastructure such as the renovation of 140 facades in Tecate, Pueblo Mágico, the paving of routes to the Valle de Guadalupe and the expansion of the second floor of the road that connects Tijuana International Airport with the Convention Center.

Such initiatives, valued at billions of Mexican pesos, seek to strengthen the state's capacity to receive more tourists and generate economic spillover keeping its profile of very trendy detination.
