Brazil | Significant International Investment for the Potential of the Country in the Tourism Sector

Brazil, the largest and easternmost nation in South America, a country which boasts a very rich biodiversity and an incredible variety of landscapes, from the pristine beaches of Rio de Janeiro and Bahia to lush Amazon Rainforest, the stunning Iguazu Falls, the vast Pantanal wetlands and the extense plains in the Rio Grande do Sul, a land highlighted by a rich culture, vibrant cities and lively towns, a very demanded destination for its multiple offer of outdoor activities offering a range of experiences for every type of traveller is experiencing significant international investment for the potential of the country in the tourism sector.

The tourism sector in Brazil has registered a significant growth in foreign investments last year reaching €349.0 million, a figure that represents an increase of 40% compared to the data for 2023.

In the year 2023 and 2024 the Latin American country has accumulated €598.0 million in foreign currency linked to tourism activity, which means the recognition of international investors to the potential of Brazil's tourism driven by promotion, infrastructure strategies, improvements in air connectivity, a strong development in the hospitality industry and a notable calendar of events of high level all year round all elements that increased investor confidence in a country that offers endless options for creating very profitable businesses.

The Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, wanted to celebrate the positive numbers and highlighted the importance of investments for the growth of the sector in the country stating that these results demonstrate the high interest of investors in Brazil's tourism potential.

The country is working to create a favourable environment for new businesses and strengthen infrastructure,  ensuring that tourism continues this successful momentum and elevating itself as an engine of economic development and job creation.

The President of Embratur, the Brazilian Tourism Board, federal, state – owned agency reporting to the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, Marcelo Freixo, underlined the importance of the alliance with the professional tourism segment for the record and said that this growth is not circumstantial, but it is the capacity of managing to transform the potential of Brazil into reality.

The impact of this relevant investments is to help the country growing even more, as it increases the Brazilian offer in the hotel network and other tourism services, generating employment and income through the country.

In addition, the Ministry of Tourism has launched the guide "Tourism Doing Business : Investing in Brazil", which aims to stimulate international participation in the national sector and present to the world the benefits, conditions and business opportunities offered by competitive and captivating tourism projects in Brazil.
