Aberdeen, an important port city in northeast Scotland, the third most populous Scottish centre, located where the Dee and Don rivers meet the North Sea, known as the " Granite City" for its many enduring grey - stone buildings  launched at its International Airport an AI - powered digital assistant designed to improve passengers eperience at its international airport.

Aberdeen International Airport unveiled "Hello Aberdeen" developed in partnership with Hello Lamp Post, company with its corporate office in London, creating AI Digital assistants for public spaces, accessible via SMS or browser on mobile phone.

This innovative tool which delivers real - time and  personalized assistance, helps passengers to have access to a complete and vital information into the airport allowing to navigate the terminal easily.

"Hello Aberdeen" is available via QR codes and it offers instant support on mobile devices, catering to all passengers, including those with accessibility needs, generating automating responses to routine enquiries.

The tool reduces the volume of common questions directed to staff and is also prepared to unlock new insights into passengers needs, helping the airport identity trends improving services in key areas.

A trial on using "Hello Aberdeen" was held last year at Glasgow International Airport in partnership with Connected Places Catapult, an innovation agency for cities, transport, and place leadership based in London which focused on passengers requiring special assistance.

The trial result showed a 50% reduction in queries were received by customer service staff and it supported 12.300+ more passengers per year.

Managing Director of Aberdeen International Airport, Mark Beveridge expressed his delight for the launch of this cutting - edge technology that will help passengers with real - time information available, hoping that this AI -powered assistant will further enhance the customer experience, ensuring a smoother and more personalised journey.

CEO of Hello Lamp Post Tiernan Mines said that the launch of “Hello Aberdeen” marks another key milestone in the partnership with AGS Group, improving the experience for both passengers and staff.
