Marriott International | Expanding its Luxury Safari Spaces with Two New Exclusive Properties in Kenya

Marriott International, American multinational hospitality company headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland revealed its expansion in Luxury Safari spaces in the African continent with two new exclusive properties in Kenya, such as the Ritz - Carlton Masai Safari Camp and the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp.

 The Ritz - Carlton property is set to open in August 2025 and will mark the upscale brand's foray in the luxury safari segment. The Camp is located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, famous protected ara of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzania border and it will situated on an island on the Sand River, one of the tributaries for the Mara River, the famous crossing point for the wildebeest, sits on the southern border of the Masai Mara National Reserve.

According to Marriott International, the Ritz - Carlton Masai Safari Camp will be designed as an elevated treetop retreat promising guest to live an aunthentic and unique experience with prime views of the annual Great Migration, the ever - moving circular migration of over a million animals across the Serengeti – Mara ecosystem.

Ritz - Carlton Masai Safari Camp will feature 20 tented suites bosting separating living areas, indoor and outdoor showers and private plunge pools. Facilities include a restaurant with a wine cellar, a stargazing sky deck, a traditional boma, a spa and wellness centre, a swimming pool and a photography studio. Guests will also have access to curated game drives and cultural experiences.

The JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp
is on track to open early in 2026. The Safari Camp will be situated between Mount Kenya, famous Kenyan extinct volcano and the second - highest peak in Africa, after Kilinmajaro and part of the Rift eastern mountain range and the Aberdare Mountains, a 160 kilometres long mountain range of upland, north of the capital of the country Nairobi.

The property will be located within Kenya's Solio Game Reserve, a privately owned sanctuary dedicated to rhino conservation in a beautiful valley in the Greater Laikipia Region.

 JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp will feature 20 tented accommodations, including two - bedrooms suites. Facilities will include four dining concepts with highlight a sky deck restaurant, a Spa by JW Marriott, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, and a conservation house.

Guest will have the opportunity to enjoy great experiences with a large fan of activities such as horseback - riding safari, guided walks, quad biking, night game drives and visits to a private rhino orphanage. 

The future opening of the property will mark the second luxury safari within the JW Marriott portfolio, following the debut of Marriott' s inaugural luxury safari property, JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge opened in 2023 and also located in Masai Mara National Reserve.
