The hotel’s name, Aria Maria was inspired by a personal exchange between Libra Group President George Loghotedis and former Colombian President Iván Duque. During a visit to the Greek island of Spetses, the two discovered a shared childhood comnection to the Greek folk song “Maria me ta kitrina”, Maria Dressed in Yellow which became the inspiration behind the name.
Aria Hotels CEO Makis Pantzatos said that the future opening of Aria Maria, it’s like to reviving a significant part of Cartagena’s architectural history and a future invitation to live a unique experience through the prism of Greek hospitality characterized by authenticity and understated elegance.
