It comes 2nd in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, a detail that confirms Austria’s growing appeal, also among a younger, more active, and environmentally aware traveller demographic, many of whom travel in the spring and fall, indicating the increasing importance of year – round tourism.
This success is attributed to a a combination of factors including unique Austria’s alpine scenery, a diverse range of outdoor activities, and the innovative tourism offerings developed by the Austrian alpine regions.
The country is a top choice for mountain holidays especially for those seeking hiking, biking, and other nature - based activity and also cultural experiences cater to different interests.
Resorts and villages are developing innovative tourism products, such as the Mountaineering Villages program which aims to diversify the offerings, income sources and enhance the appeal of these areas.
