France is leading in Luxury hotel bookings according to a report by Global Travel Collection (GTC), organization part of Internova Travel Group based in Beverly Hills, California, U.S., the world’s most influential community of top travel advisors, representing elite professionals across the luxury leisure, corporate and entertainment sector.
GTC has reported a significant rise of luxury hotel reservations in France for July 2025, marking a 64% year - over - year increase with the capital of the country Paris, Nice and Marseille as the top destinations.
Global Travel Collection’s data indicates that this increase positions France ahead of Italy, which had previously dominated the luxury travel market in Europe.
The data was compiled from bookings made by Global Travel Collection advisors in the United States, highlighting that Paris that recorded 2.710 nights booked, while Nice and Marseille followed with 1.313 and 286 nights, respectively.
Notable hotels in these cities received a high volume of reservations include Le Bristol Paris, an icon of Parisian luxury, elegance and “art de vivre “ located on the prestigious rue du Fauburg Saint - Honoré in the beating heart of the 8th Arrondissement, and The Maybourne Riviera, a stunning hotel situated in Roquebrune - Cap - Martin, overlooking the Principality of Monaco and the French Riviera.
In contrast, Italy saw 777 nights booked in Rome, 725 in Milan, and 679 in Naples. Popular choices among travelers in Italy include Hotel Eden in Rome, a stylish accommodation located in one of the eternal city’s most exclusive areas, not far from the iconic Via Veneto street, Passalacqua, a top hotel situated in the captivating Moltrasio, a very attractive centre on the western shore of Lake Como, and Romazzino, a Belmond Hotel, located on the beautiful and glamorous Costa Smeralda in Sardinia.
The United Kingdom also experienced growth, with a 13% increase in bookings over July 2024. In 2024, Global Travel Collection advisors facilitated $2.3 billion in luxury travel sales, arranging nearly 900 ultra - luxury trips, each valued at over $100.000, and average daily hotel rate by GTC was $1.400.
This shift in booking trends suggests a more balanced distribution of luxury travel demand across Europe, with France reclaiming a leading position for the first time since 2019.
