IHCL, The Indian Hotels Company Limited | Signed an Agreement to Open a 64 - Key Hotel in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India

IHCL, The Indian Hotels Company Limited, hospitality firm based in Mumbai, part of Tata Group boasting a large portfolio of hotels, resorts and vacations properties across India, has signed an agreement to open a 64 - key hotel under the Gateway brand in Pahalgam, a hill station located on the banks of Lidder River at an altitude of 2.000 metres in the Vale of Kashmir within the Anantnag District in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Pahalgam is a centre highlighted by the presence of the imposing Himalaya mountains, lofty hills, evergreen forests, a pleasant climate and well known for its mountain trails run northeast to Amarnath Cave Temple, a relevant Hindu shrine and site of the Annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage.

The project which will operate under the Gateway brand, is a brownfield development and marks IHCL’s continued expansion in Jammu and Kashmir state, bringing the total number of hotels in the region to seven, including one currently under development.

 The development is a collaboration between IHCL and Mr. Riaz Ahmad Panjira, Managing Director of Cemtac Cements, the hotel is designed to cater to various tourism segments, including leisure, spiritual, adventure, and eco-tourism. and is expected to enhance the region’s hospitality offerings.

The property is located in the foothills of the Himalayas along the Lidder River, in an area renowned for its natural beauty, pristine nature and featuring lush meadows and snow - capped mountains.

The hotel will feature 64 comfortable rooms and several amenities including an all - day restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a heated pool, spa, gym, a health club and will also offer banqueting facilities covering 2.000 square feet, suitable for intimate gatherings and events. 

The establishment enters into the Gateway brand, an upscale, full - service hotel and resort brand, designed to provide modern travellers with a simple, consistent, and hassle - free experience.

The brand is known for offering culturally rich and authentic local experience, with hotels featuring vibrant, local spaces, a range of dining options, recreational facilities, and diverse meeting and celebration spaces.

The signing align with The Indian Hotels Company Limited’s strategy to expand its presence into - high potential destinations with strong ecosystems.
