Banyan Group, a multinational hospitality company established in 1994 and based in Singapore, formerly known as Banyan Tree Holdings, specializes in management and development of hotels, resorts and spas in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America has announced the opening of a new resort in China expanding its presence in the East Asian country where the group currently operates 37 hotels.
The opening of Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phonix Bay Resort is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Greater Bay Area in China with this new unit located in Zhuhai, a modern city’s in China’s southern Guandong province on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary near Macau, in an area transformed into one of China’s first Special Economic Zones in 1980, and today known for golf resorts, theme parks and islands of the Pearl River Delta.
The resort is situated on the romantic coastal city, enjoying a private coastline, with a distant view of the Hong Kong - Zuhai - Macau Bridge and the Sun Moon Bay, between hills and the South China Sea, forming a dual - branded complex with the adjacent Angsana Zuhai Phoenix Bay resort overlooking the Zhuhai Grand Theatre, offering a convenient access to Gonghei Port and other city landmarks.
Relying on the the natural mountain terrain and bay, the Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay Resort creates a quiet and luxurious vacation atmospheres and features 83 comfortable rooms and suites.
The accommodations are designed to integrarte with the surrounding landscape offering stunning views of the mountains or the sea and some suites include private pools or on onsen - style hot springs.
Dining options at the resort include XUN, a restaurant specializing in Minnam cuisine, and RONG, which serves an à la carte breakfast menu. BANG, a whisky and grill bar, and THE BUTTER, offering Chinese desserts are also available, while MIRROR, the lobby lounge provides a setting for tea and conversation.
Amenities at the resort include the Banyan Tree spa boasting seven ocean - view treatment rooms, a cliffside hot spring, an infinity pool, and an ocean - view gym. Outdoor activities such as Wing Chun martial arts and beach meditation are also offered.
The property also provides the Phoenix Ballroom, accurately designed to host a variety of events, and a viewing terrace with a sky lawn.
This opening marks Banyan Group’s continued expansion in China, and the company is also preparing for the grand opening of its 100th hotel, Mandai Rainforest by Banyan Tree, in Singapore later this month.
