China, through its Embassy in New Delhi, India on 26th December rolled out a fully online application system for Indian passport holders.
This new digital platform streamlines applications and advances people - to - people exchanges between China and India, offering Indian travellers a simpler and more efficient process to obtain visas.
The initiative allows applicants to complete all forms and upload the required documents digitally through the official portal, reducing the time and effort previously needed in the initial stages of the process and pays fees digitally before a single, shortened visit to the Chinese Visa Application Centre (CVAC) as reported by Asian News International (ANI), an Indian news agency that offers syndicated multimedia news eeds to news bureaus in the southern Asian country.
The introduction of the online system passing a preliminary screening and reducing footfall at counters notorious for long queues is expected to strengthen tourism and business travel.
Importantly, passports, biometrics and supporting documents should only be submitted to the China Visa Application Center (CVAC) in New Delhi, and after the online review has been completed the users will receive an email confirmation with a QR – code as final stage of the process.
Officials says the streamlined process will encourage a greater flow of travel and culturalk interaction, strengthening ties between the world’s two most populous nations.
