Cusco, Peru | Major Investment to Boost Luxury Tourism in the Sacred Valley

“El Valle Sagrado de Cusco” , the Sacred Valley of Cusco, a fertile region renowned for its profound Inca history, massive archaeological sites like Pisac and Ollantaytambo, as as well as traditional villages, offering a warmer climate, vibrant markets, and essential picturesque agricultural, and religious, ruins along the Urubamba River is emerging as one of main focuses of high - level tourism investment in the country.

Grupo Invictus S.A., a Peruvian corporation with an international presence, leader in the development of high - impact real estate, tourism and hotel projects based in San Borja, announced the development of a luxury hotel project with a major investment of more than US$25 million, aimed at boosting the luxury tourism offer and strengthening the regional economy through a growth model with a territorial focus.

The initiative, which includes the construction of the Elohim Raymi resort hotel, was presented at a public event held at the House of Culture of Cusco, with the participation of representatives of the country.

Subsequently, the groundbreaking ceremony was held in the Sacred Valley, with the presence of business delegations from Colombia, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates, evidencing the interest and international cooperation around tourism development projects in southern Peru.

The hotel development is part of a growing trend in international tourism, driven by travellers seeking exclusive experiences, wellness, high - end gastronomy, contact with a pristine nature and an authentic connection with the local culture.

Under this approach, the resort has been conceived as a comprehensive proposal that combines specialized infrastructure, design aligned with international standards and an operation oriented to the luxury tourism segment.

From its initial stage, the project has prioritized articulation with the local environment, with the aim that tourism activity generates direct and indirect benefits for the population of the Sacred Valley.

Among the axes announced are the progressive integration of local suppliers and services, the generation of employment and training in areas related to hospitality and visitor service, as well as the promotion of experiences with identity in coordination with cultural initiatives and enterprises in the area.

As part of its social commitment, the project also announced immediate actions to support educational and community infrastructure. In this first stage, the delivery of more than 100 bags of cement for the construction and improvement of school classrooms in areas of Maras and other prioritized sectors was reported, in coordination with community organizations and social allies.

This approach seeks to ensure that tourism growth is not only concentrated in traditional circuits, but also contributes to a more diversified, dynamic and sustainable regional economy, expanding opportunities for local communities and productive actors in the environment.

In the field of territorial planning, the initiative also highlighted the importance of connectivity and strategic infrastructure for the orderly growth of tourism. In this context, the role of the Chinchero International Airport was mentioned as a key factor that could facilitate the access of international visitors to the Sacred Valley in the coming years, extending seasons and strengthening opportunities for local services.

Likewise, a medium - term vision was advanced aimed at the development of complementary infrastructure for international events and meetings, with the aim of promoting tourism with a longer stay and average spending, as well as attracting corporate, cultural and competitive activities that contribute to positioning the Sacred Valley as an integral destination on the map of premium tourism in South America.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       CEO of Grupo Invictus S.A., Carlos Leyva said that Cusco is a world heritage, but also an opportunity to build development with vision: employment, training, local purchases and a value chain that stays in the region.

The head of the group added that it’s not just about building a destination; it is about building the future. When the investment is aligned with education and community, the impact transcends.

This surge in investment is part of a larger, broader strategy to position Cusco and the Sacred Valley as a premier global destination for luxury and sustainable tourism, targeting a substantial increase in international visitor spending by 2035.
