Hilton | Officially Opened a New Curio Collection by Hilton Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, U.S.

Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc, American multinational hospitality company based in Tysons, Virginia, has officially opened a new Curio Collection hotel in San Antonio, a major city at the head of the San Antonio River in Bexar County in south - central Texas, a centre with a rich colonial heritage, home to a vibrant culture and featuring iconic landmarks like The Alamo and River Walk,  just a short trip from the capital of the state Austin or the beach.

The new $185 million Monarch San Antonio, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel is owned and operated by Zachry Hospitality, a proven leader in the development, management and ownership of hospitality assets headquartered in San Antonio.

The development aims to address demand for high - end accommodations in San Antonio, where luxury hotel inventory currently accounts for only 8% of the market compared to 20% in nearby Austin and Dallas.

The hotel stands on a site historically significant to the 1968 World Fair, continuing the area’s legacy development. The project reflects a considerale investment, with nearly $1 million spent per room.

The property is located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio, a modern urban park with green spaces like the Civic Park’s Great Lawn, play areas, and water features, providing proximity to the city’s notable attractions such as the River Walk and the Alamo.

The area was redeveloped from the 1968 HemisFair site into a walkable neighbourhood that blends new amenities with its historical significance such as the iconic Tower of Americas, unique dining and retail options, public art and event spaces.

The building was designed by Overland Partners, with interiors by the Gettys Group and KBAA. The hotel’s design incorporates natural materials and contemporary architecture, drawing inspiration from the monarch butterflies that migrate through the region, with sculptural forms and open - air spaces reflecting the butterfly’s life cycle.

The 17 - story property feature 200 rooms, including 28 suites. Each room includes SFERRA Italian linens, blackout curtains, ergonomic workspaces, Platinum Vertuo Nespresso coffee machines, interactive tablets and bathrooms with Texas - based Niven Morgan products.

Monarch San Antonio, Curio Collection by Hilton offers three dining options include Oak & Amber, a restaurant featuring a menu inspired by local ingredients, Aleteo, a rooftop venue offering Yucatán - inspired dishes and cocktails and the Nectarie Café will offer daytime dining with a focus on fresh ingredients.

Amenities at the property will include a spa with botanical therapies, a pool deck, an open - air fitness studio, over 15.000 square feet of event space, which includes a 5.000 - square - foot Meridian Ballroom. All event spaces are located on a single floor and feature natural light and technology for meetings and celebrations.

 A notable architectural feature is “ La Mariposa”, a $2 million three - winged pavilion, a public art installation with stained glass and more than three miles of integrated LED lighting to be visible from the rooftop terrace and throughout the district, designed in collaboration with artists that serves as a central point for the property.

The property joins the Curio Collection by Hilton brand, a global portfolio of unique, upper - upscale hotels hand - picked for their distinctive character, history and local immersion, offering guests bespoke stories through unique architecture, curated local experiences, and world - class dining.
