Latitude Hotel Group, a African lifestyle hospitality brand based in urban encironments across the continent, and headquartered in Kampala, Uganda, has unveiled plans to develop its first Tanzania resort in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city, a bustling, fast - growing coastal metropolis on the Indian Ocean, known as the “Adobe of Peace” featuring a unique blend of African, Arab, Indian, and German heritage, offering vibrant markets, diverse cuisine, and easy access to island gateways like Bongoyo and Mbudya.
The development in partnership with Sanaabitz Investments Limited, a company based in Dar es Salaam will be an 80 - room resort located in the Kigamboni district and peninsula of Dar es Salam, a rapidly developing, coastal municipal council in the city known as a “semi island” With scenic beaches, Kigamboni is one of the five districts in the region bordered by the Indian Ocean to the east, providing key fishing, substance farming, and tourism economic activities.
The resort will be located near South Beach, mangrove forests and the Nyerere Bridge, and will follow Latitude Hotel Group’s operating model used in Kampala, Uganda, Lilongwe, Malawi, and Lusaka, Zambia, adding accommodation, MICE and events in Dar es Salaam.
Preliminary works are slated to begin in 2026, with the opening targeted for 2028. The project will feature standard rooms and two - bedroom apartments, cafes and restaurants, a spa, retail space, a visitor and information centre, conference facilities, picnic areas and camp sites, plus an outdoor performance space for up to 5.000 people.
