Vietnam’s tourism sector has hit a major milestone in early 2026, maintaining its strong upward trend with a remarkable increase of international arrivals exceeding 2 million for three consecutive months, including 2.02 million in December 2025, 2.45 million visitors recorded in January, and over 2.2 million visitors in February 2026 as reported by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).
Nearly 4.7 international tourists visited the country in the first two months of 2026, representing an 18.1% increase year - on - year. This surge is fuelled by expanded visa waives, global security recognition, strong demand for independent travel, improved tourism products and other combination of factors such as diversification tourism offer, and expanded international promotion efforts.
China and the Republic of Korea are the largest source markets, with strong contributions from Japan and the U.S.
