The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), part of Tata Group and headquartered in Mumbai,has signed an agreement to develop a new greenfield Gateway hotel in Dirang, a picturesque, quiet town located in the West Kameng district within the state of Arunachal Pradesh in northeast India.
Birang is located 42 km from Bomdila, it is a key stopover for tourists travelling to Tawang, known for its scenic beauty and attractions like hot springs, monasteries, the scenic Sangti Valley, and serving as a base for visiting high - altitude spots, with a local population belonging to the Mompa tribe.
The project of the Gateway Dirang is being developed with Mr. Phurpa Tsering. No timeline for the hotel’s opening or completion was provided.
The hotel will be located in Dirang, a scenic valley town known for its blend of Himalayan nature, Buddhist culture and historical landmarks like the Thupsung Dhargve Ling monastery, the historic Dirang Dzong, the ancient Thembang Heritage Village, a very attractiver destination boasting stunning mountainous landscapes.
The property will feature 70 rooms, an all - dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a qimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, a banquet hall, and dedicated meeting rooms.
The establishment will join the Gateway brand focused on providing upscale, full - service hotels and resorts, offering comfort, and consistent experience for business and leisure travellers across India. The brand aims to provide a hassle - free experience with a focus on simplicity, style and personalized services.
With this agreement, The Indian Hotels Company Limited will have 21 hotels in the North Wast of India, including 12 under development.
