The new development of the Dutch company named The Social Hub Florence Belfiore with an investment of €150 million marks the second opening in Florence of the group after the Social Hub Lavagnini and it is located along Viale Belfiore, strategic urban artery in the San Jacopino district situated north - west of Florence city centre, a neighborhood centered around its square, Piazza San Jacopino and the Church of San Jacopo in Polverosa, popularly known as San Jacopino Church developed between 1931 and 1936 in an attractive neo - Romanesque style.
The Social Hub's in - house real estate team managed and led the project, which was developed over six years in collaboration with Studio Natalini, renowned architecture firm headquartered in Florence boasting several works worldwide with a design which takes inspiration from the iconic Florence's Renaissance heritage, with Rizoma Architecture, a dynamic interdisciplinary group of architects based in Bologna operating in the field of architecture urbanism, research and design founded in 2009 which led the development of the interiors.
The 80.000 - square metre project includes a 550 -room hotel complex, considered Tuscany's largest coworking space boasting a capacity for 500 professionals, and conference facilities for over 300 guests, bars, restaurants, a 24 - hour gym, as well as a 7000 - square metre rooftop offering a public garden and an Olympic – length swimming pool.
As one of the main highlights of the establishment, the rooftop garden was designed by landscape architect, garden designer, botanist, writer and journalist and Antonio Perazzi, an expert in naturalistic and ecological gardens and it features over 3.500 perennial plants, 500 shrubs, and 55 trees, a project that is part of a broader municipal plan to increase green spaces in the Florentine neighbourhood.

In addition, the new hub will host over 600 events annually, ranging from language and cooking workshops to professional development sessions and fitness classes.
