Thailand is planning and carrying out a campaign with the aim to expand cooperation in South East Asia with the campaign "Six Countries One Nation" to promote and enhance regional tourism across six ASEAN Nations.
The campaign has been conceived to improve cross - border travel and promote shared experiences across Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and a sixth country yet to be confirmed, with plans also focusing to establish a multi destination framework allowing travellers to visit more countries in a trip.
After earlier discussions with Cambdia, Malaysia and Vietnam, two advisors to Thailand Foreign Minister, Dusit Manapan and Chayika Wongnapachant on 22nd April 2025 visited Singapore and met the Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who expressed interest in the regional project.
The initiative will focus to create a joint group that will be formed to coordinate logistic and oversee implementation of new tourist proposals and products, establishing a solid framework and an operational scheme to launch by the end of 2025.
In the plans Thailand proposed a series of premium travel services, including cruise routes connecting, Singapore, Penang, Malaysia, Phuket, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Other programs with further intineraries focus on Peranakan heritage across southern Thailand and Malaysia, culinary tours through Thai provinces and as destination of relevance, Johor Bahru, city located on the Malay Peninsula, with alo proposals focusing on self - drive tourism across the peninsula, and seasonal trips tied to local festivals and events.
In addition, promotional activities will include joint hospitality and dining packages featuring Michelin – rated restaurants and partner hotels across the region.
As part of the framework, the foreign ministries of the participating countries will receive regular updates through official channels.
