Colima, a small state of western Mexico on the central Pacific coast that includes the four oceanic, volcanic Revillagicedo Islands known for their uique ecosystem, a land boasting a rich cultural heritage and biodiversity, home to Tecoman, the world's lime capital, and the Sierra de Manantlan, Biosphere Reserve, which contains 2.700 species of plants, one - fourth of the country's mammal species and one - third of its bird species launched a Surf Circuit taking advantage of the perfect waves in the Pacific.
COLIMA 2025 Surf & Bodyboard Circuit positions the state as a new epicentre of surfing in Mexico, an initiative of the State Government through the Undesecretary of Tourism that invites surfers and travellers to discover the Colima coast through three destinations that are ideal scenarios to experience the sea in all its unique intensity.
More than a competition, the circuit is an experience that fuses local culture, nature and sports, connecting the national surfing community with a state that, due to its compact size, hospitality and powerful waves, is becoming a special destination and a secret to discover.
The COLIMA2025 Surf Circuit includes three keys stops :
• "Reyes del Verano" - Manzanillo - From 18th to 20th July 2025 - The first stage starts in the Pacific tourist capital and bustling port city, site of two beautiful bays, Bahia de Manzanillo and Bahia de Santiago, Manzanillo, where warm waters, festival life, and a coastal urban setting welcome riders with open arms.
• "Paraiso de las Olas" - Armería - From 18th to 19th October 2025 - A serene and semi - virgin destination in the southern territory of the state of Colima, Armería is an ideal place for all those are looking for clean waves, good vibes and a deep connection with nature.
• " Clásico de Pascuales" - Tecomán - From 14th to 16th November 2025 - Luxury closure in a renowned centre on the Pacific lowlands near the Armería River, Tecomán boasts one of the most respected beaches internationally, known for its powerful tubes, considered a real challenge for experienced surfers.
Each tournament will have a prize fund of 150.000 pesos, distributed equally between women and men, underscoring the commitment to equity and inclusion in sports.
The event also highlights Colima's role as a place with surfing potential. Names such as Alan Cleland, Mexico's representative at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and Laura González, a prominent national exponent, have chosen the beaches of Colima to train to the quality of their waves and their favourable environment.
In addition to the competitions, the circuit will be a platform to showcase Colima's tourism potential, highlighting its rich coastal cuisine, its proximity to volcanic landscapes with several opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities, and adventures and its relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect destination for those looking for more than just sun and beach.
