Nuevo León, a state in northeastern Mexico, a popular destination for its historical heritage, diverse landscapes, outdoor adventures and boasting stunning attractions like canyons, caves and watefalls, as well as cultural sites like the Museo de Historia Mexicana and various centres highlighted by an outstanding colonial architecture, famous for its ironworks, steels and foundries were the first heavy industrial plants in Mexico, numerous textile companies, a large brewery and other factoriers strengthens its commitment to social, accessible and sustainable tourism at national level.
Within the framework of the Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2025, the state formalized its incorporation into the Mexican Council of Social Tourism, an initiative promoted by the International Organization of Social Tourism, ISTO Americas.
During the protocol ceremony held in Baja California, the founding members of the Council were sworn, including the states of Baja California, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Mexico City, Morelos, Nuevo León, Nayarit, Querétaro, Sonora and Tlaxcala.
The Mexican Council of Social Tourism has the following objectives :
• Strenghtening inclusive, supportive and sustainable public policies
• Ensuring access to tourism for all
• Promote inter – institutional cooperation for social tourism development
With this integration, the state of Nuevo León reaffirms its commitment to promote a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable model, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, in collaboration with national and international actors.
