Liguria, crescent - shaped region in northwest Italy highlighted by a stunning Mediterranean coastline known as the Italian Rivera, a land crossed by the Alps and the Appennines mountain range, famous for its natural beauty, including long stretch of beaches, impressive cliffs plunging into the sea, and magnificent national parks is managed a plan for a financial contribution to small municipalities to strengthen territorial identity and quality of the offer.
The region is making available €220.000 as a non - repayable contribution for Ligurian municipalities, excluding provincial capitals, which organize or co - organize historical and traditional events from 1st June to 30th November 2025 and the application for the contribution must be submitted by next July 2nd.
Among the objectives is to protect and promote the historical and traditional events thar represents an essential component of the Ligurian identity, offeribng unique opportunities for discovery for tourists and residents.
The Regional Councilor for tourism and territorial marketing, Luca Lombardi said that with this intervention the Liguria region intends to strengthen the links between territorial identity and the quality of the toiurist offer with particular attention to small municipalities and inland areas.
Preserving the past through historical events is the most authentic way to shape the future of the Ligurian communities and therefore supporting these initiatives means not only keeping alive the local traditions, but also to enhance the villages, seasonally adjust tourist flows and promote a cultural offer based on accessibility and sustainability.
The contribution will be granted to the extent of 50% of the eligible expenditure, up to a maximum of €5.000 per event.
All municipalities in Liguria that have organized or co – organized events of a historical oe traditional nature carried out for at least `15 years, even if not consecutive, from 1st June to 30 November 2025, will be able to apply.
