Great Britain | Tourist Offer Expansion and ETA Introduction

 

Great Britain, through Visit Britain, the British Tourist Authority and Tourist Board of the United Kingdom, national tourism agency responsible for marketing the country worldwide and developing Britain's visitors economy expands its complete tourist offer to be enjoyed all year round present in its renewed web page and recently introduced on the occasion of the TTG Travel Experience 2024 which was held in the well-known city of the Riviera Romagnola, Rimini showing the main news of the destination with its tourist exapansion and information about ETA introduction.

The most popular destinations remain London, the capital of the metropolis country with its great charm that offers everything and more for its historical, artistic, cultural heritage, the always suggestive and captivating Scotland with its history, culture, traditions and enchanting landscapes of the Highlands and the South of England home of the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire, Kent, Surrey and West Sussex highlighted by its Royal castle, manors, scenic gardens, averdant countryside and rugged coastlines.

Visit Britain with its strategic plans to expand the tourist offer intends to promote the North East of the country and in particular Northumbria which in its territory includes the historic counties of Northumberland, England's northermost county, bounded to the north by Scotland and to the east by the North Sea, a land highlighted by a pristine nature, breathtaking landscapes, natural parks,  barely – visited beaches, market towns and Durham,a county located north of Yorkshire and south of Newcastle, a land which boasts suggestive, medieval centres, historic manors with its hilly western territory highlighted by remote moorlands, small villages and sheep farms.

In addition, thanks to an agreement with the British Film Commission, the Government's National Agency responsible for maximising and supporting international film and television production in Great Britain, there will be a focus on the locations of films and TV series such as Harry Potter the well-known series of seven fantasy novels written by J.K. Rowling and Downtown Abbey, renowned, historical drama television series created by Julian Fellowes and set in the early 20 th century will be promoted.

Next to them also The Crown, famous, drama web television series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II created and principally written by Peter Morgan and the notorious 007 Saga linked to the British Secret agent James Bond working under the codename 007, fictional character created in 1953 by the novelist Ian Fleming.

Also in the foreground was the introduction of ETA, Electronic Travel Authorisation,a digital pre - travel authorisation required for nationals of certain coountries who do not need a visa to enter the United Kingdom for short stays and it allows the British Government to assess travellers for potential security or immigration risks before they arrive which will come into operations from 2nd april 2025.

This document will be mandatory for all travellers and of all ages including passengers transiting through airports in Great Britain and will be available for applications as early as 05th March 2025.

Linked to that the Travel Trade Manager of Visit Britain Simona Blandi has communicated that it is advisable to make the request at least three days before departure or even before and the easiest way to do this is through the app and on the websites of Visit Britain and the British Government where all the information about it is available.
