Antigua and Barbuda | Tourism Growth with New Air Connections and Project Development

 

Antigua and Barbuda archipelagic country situated at the conjucture of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in the Leeward Islands, nation comprising its two namesake islands and several small ones and part of the Lesser Antilles, well known for its stunning and pristine reef - lined beaches, comfortable resorts and suggestive rainforests is experiencing a very positive period, with tourism growing thanks to new air connections and project development.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority Colin C. James connected to all this reported that tourism is growing with an increase of 16.74% in arrivals recorded between January and August 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year with a total of 229.275 visitors, undoubtedly a very relevant figure with Italian tourism which recorded an increase of 18.48% exceeding 2000 visitors.

Alongside these jewels of Antigua and Barbuda's hospitality in 2027 there will be the opening of the ultra luxury resort One&Only Halfmoon Bay, a new luxury hospitality project that will be located in Half Moon Bay in Antigua on the south - east of the island developed in a 132 – acre site overlooking a secluded semi – circular beach adjacent to a protected national park.

In addition, Antigua and Barbuda is considered the capital of sailing in the Caribbean region with the beautiful Falmouth Bay and English Harbour is very well suited for sailboats and with an excellent tradition about sailbout racing and in this case the target of Italian tourists is mainly composed of sailers.
