Paphos, Cyprus | Signed a Contract to Create the Town's New Tourism Information Office

The total cost of the works is €234.430, including VAT and the entire amount is being financed by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.

The location of the new office was carefully chosen and it will be located in the heart of the old town, next to the central bus station, a spot with heavy tourist traffic, and near two major museums that are due to open soon.

 Paphos' Municipality will oversee the six - month project, which includes strict timeframes in the hopes of completing the work ahead of schedule.

 Once completed, the Tourism Information Office will accommodate four permanent staff members, it will become a relevant point of reference acting as the main hub for visitor information and support, serving both tourists and locals.

The municipality stated that the project supports its broader aim of revitalising Paphos historic centre and is expected to improve everyday life for residents while also strengthening the city's image and reputation as a cultural and tourist destination.

Tanzania | Announced the Introduction of a Mandatory Travel Insurance for International Visitors

Part of the 2025/2026 fiscal budget, the new policy is intended to provide international visitors coverage for accidents, baggage issues, medical emergencies, and other unforeseen incidents during a traveller's stay in Tanzania and once issued, the non - refundable policy will remain for 62 days. 

The insurance scheme is expected to be administered through NIC, the National Insurance Company and appointed agents.

Citizens of EAC, East African Community member states are exempt, while officials have indicated that SADC, Southern African Development Community nationals may also be excluded, pending confirmation.

However, tourism operators have raised concerns that the additional cost could affect destination competitiveness, particularly as many international travellers already hold private insurance.

The Tanzanian government has yet to confirm whether a digital purchase platform will be provided, prompting industry calls for clarity to avoid delays and confusion at entry points.

Ireland | "Ireland Unrushed", New Global Destination Marketing Campaign Launched

The campaign is currently running on leading video platform social and digital channels in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Nertherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as in other key tourism markets around the world, it is live across the month of June and will reach an estimated 70 million people.

In early testing, the video achieved over 90% persuasions scores, a measure of their ability to drive a change in consumer consideration for the country.

The global marketing destination campaign includes dedicated materials on Tourism Ireland's international website, Ireland.com, highlighting ten "hero" journeys which showcase slower - paced and more immersive holiday idea to prospective overseas holidaymakers.

The Tourism Board of Ireland is partnering with local industry across the country to showcase "slow tourism experiences" from travelling inland waterways by boat, to experiencing locally grown produce on a coastal food tour, or journeying by train around popular cities like Belfast in Northern Ireland, Cork, or the capital Dublin to explore the local beaches, villages and hiking trails.

Scandic Hotels | Announced Plans for a New Hotel in the Ski Resort Area of Sälen, Sweden

Scandic Hotels, a renowned Swedish hotel chain based in Stockholm, founded in 1963 as Esso Motor Hotel announced plans for a new hotel in the ski resort of Sälen in western Sweden near the Norwegian border.

The property set to open for the 2026/2027 winter season is being developed in partnership with property owner Lima Besparingsskog and it will be strategically located between Tandådalen and Hundfjället, offering easy access to both family - friendly slopes and steeper runs during the decades.

Kazungula, Zambia | €12 Million Water Supply Project to Boost Economic Growth, Tourism and Investment at Regional Crossroads Launched

With this initiative a council hopes that this new tourist information point will showcase the very best of what a county has to offer.

Concerning the opening, Deputy Leader and cabinet member for local economy, culture and leisure at West Northamptonshire Council, James Petter, said that the county has an amazing array of places to see, we're just not very good about telling people about them, for example if you said to anyone "Northampton" they probably would' not known where it was on a map".

The Reform UK councillor said staff were already looking at other places around the county where information points could be installed.

Chairman of the Northamptonshire Local Visitor Economy Partnership, Richard Clinton, said that the information point was" really key" to the visitor economy.

 In this sense, the President asked the municipal authorities to grant facilities to make investments in the Paracas resort.

Paracas apart the sites above mentioned  has a great potential to invest in tourism development with its pristine beaches, the town is a launch point for the uninhabited Ballestas Islands, home to sea lions, pelicans and Humboldt penguins and it boasts the stunning Paracas National Reserve, a wonder spanning desert, ocean and islands. 

For excursions, hiking and adventure Paracas Peninsula boasts numerous trails including the Paracas Bay trail and the Lagunills - Playa Roja trail.

 The Yakumama 2025 took place in a festive atmosphere with the presence of artists like Mac Salvador, William Luna and Pelo D' Ambrosio who delighted the thousands of attendees with their repertoire.

The next day, the ceremony and gratitude to the sea of Paracas was staged by the group of artists of Inti Raymi and musically accompanied by the sicuris "Unión Juventud Pampilla" from the province of Huancané in Puno.
