Rotana Hotel Management Corporation PJSC, commonly known as Rotana Hotel,s hospitality company founded in 1992 and based in Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates operating across Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Türkiye is continuing to expand its solid footprint with a robust pipeline of new projects and unveiling the development of a five star hotel in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, in collaboration with Riverside Holding.
The luxury hotel Mogadishu Rotana is slated for completion in 2026 is situated near Aden Adde International Airport, in the Waberi District, in southern Mogadishu, in the southeastern Banaadir region and it will be managed by Aleph Hospitality, leading independent management company in Africa and in the Middle East headquartered in Dubai bringing its extensive hotel management experience and regional knowledge to the project.
The hotel forms part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan for the African city and it will comprise 321 keys, including 261 guest rooms and 60 apartments, with facilities that will encompass a variety of dining options, event, venues and retail spaces, fitness and spa centres with a design reflecting a unique blend of local cultural elements and modern sophistication aiming to be a symbol of Mogadishu revival.
Further planned development include a business park, a convention center, a shopping mall, residential properties, a school and a hospital.
The CEO of Rotana Hotels, Philip Barnes, expressed his pride in this project and said that the group aims to establish the hotel as a centre for international business, cultural exchange and tourism, emphasizing Rotana's commitment to transforming Somalia's hospitality industry and contributing to the country reviltalization efforts.
The Chairman of Riverside Holding, Jibril Hassan Mohamed expressed optimism concerning the collaboration with Rotana, commenting that it represents a significant advancement in Somalia's hospitality sector with the confidence that the project will set a new regional standard and contribute to Mogadishu's cultural and economic renaissance.

The Mogadishu Rotana will be the 118th property in Rotana's portfolio which also includes an upcoming 140 – key sustainable hotel apartment in the capital of Senegal, Dakar and other luxury hotels in other Africa's areas such as Accra - Ghana, Cotonou – Benin, Cairo and Luxor in Egypt.
