Relais & Châteaux | Two New Entries in Sirmione and Stockholm

 

Relais & Châteaux,  prestigeous association of individually owned and operated luxury hotels and restaurants established in France in 1954 by Marcel and Nelly Tilloy with its headquarters in Paris, has two new entries, the Villa Cortine Palace in Sirmione in Italy and the Stadshotell in Stockholm in Sweden.

The Villa Cortine Palace located in Sirmione, famous resort town on the southern bank of Lake Garda in the province of Brescia, known for its thermal baths and the iconic medieval castle the Rocca Scaligera overlooking the lake is a stylish mansion with a 19th century architecture surrounded by a lush, five – hectare park featuring splendid Neo Classical statue and magnificent fountains surrounded by scenic cypresses and palms located in a secluded area just five minutes walking from the historic centre.

The hotel provides 52 rooms and suites located in the historic wing of the building equipped with all facilities with elegant furnishings, attractive details inspired by the charming patrician residences.

Lombardy Region | Agreement with the Chamber of Commerce System for the Enhancement of Regional Food and Wine

 

The Lombardy region is launching itself into the enhancement of its "enogastronomia" the food and wine excellences of its territory, in particular reflected in the elevation of wine and olive oil as engines to offer further, relevant diversifications for regional tourism.

According to what reported by Ansa, the leading news agency in Italy and one of the top ranking in the world, these are the fundamental elements of the agreement signed between the chamber system and the region which provides for an endowment of almost € 350,000.

In this regard, the Councilor for Tourism Barbara Mazzali declared that food and wine tourism is becoming one of the favorite trends of travellers, a very trendy segment where the tourist not only chooses the destination for its historical, artistic and natural beauties but also to live unique experiences by visiting excellent wineries with tastings of fine wines and restaurants capable of offering authentic specialties of the territory.

Paraguay | The Domestic Tourism Sector Generated more than $500 million Annually

 

Paraguay, South American country bordered by Argentina to the south and southwest, Bolivia to the northwest and Brazil to east and northeast has seen its domestic tourism grow exponentially in recent years.

The Latin American country's tourism sector has considerably consolidated itself as one of the key drivers for Paraguay's economic recovery, generating more than $500 million annually.

The Director General of Tourism Products of the National Secretariat of Tourism, Javier Ramirez, highlighted the transversal impact of this sector in areas such as hospitality, gastronomy, crafts and transport, as protagonists of this remarkable performance.

Another pillar of this rise is certainly the MICE tourism segment, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, representing a very lucrative part of the tourism mix that has positioned itself as a great engine of the Paraguayan economy with the capital of the country Asunción which is progressively consolidating itself as an important destination for congresses and events of international level.

The Director-General pointed out that recent events such as the International Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses, which attracted some 18,000 people, is a clear example that has demonstrated the power to generate revenue but also to promote other tourist regions of the country.

Linked to that,the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism in the diversification of the country's tourist products have been emphasized, where initiatives as the "Ruta de la Caña Paraguaya" 

This route is a journey through the blue cane fields witth guided tours aimed about  the discovery of the cane technology enjoying unique tastings such as the famous distilled alcoholic beverage famous for its character with oak aromas and with products elaborated starting from the sweet cane such as must, honey cake or dulce de mani with miel among others.

A further one is the "Ruta Jesuitica " the Jesuit Route that boasts 42 sites declared World Heritage by UNESCO, both cultural and natural, 19 of which form part of the Jewish heritage which today constitutes an incomparable legacy.

These projects seek to promote lesser-known destinations, as well as enhance Paraguay's historical and cultural richness through collaboration between the public and private sectors.
