RMS Companies, an award winning real estate firm with a rapidly growing portfolio of distinctive, luxury properties, from ultra - stylish apartments and unique boutique hotels to best - in - class townhomes and headquartered in Stanford, Connecticut, has revealed plans to develop a new hotel in Port Chester, a village in the U.S. state of New York and the largest part of Rye in in-Westchester County by population, as part of a wider mixed - use redevelopment of the former United Hospital site and has received local authority backing.
Port Chester nicknamed the “Gateway to New England” and serves as a transportation hub between New England and New York, is known for its Capitol Theatre, six parks, thriving food scene with authentic ethnic eateries and the revitalized Waterfront district with shopping and entertainment. This centre is also famous for the Clay Art Center, marina access on the Bryan River, walkable areas, good transit (Metro – North), and ongoing development, blending historic charm with modern amenities and cultural richness.
The project aims to support Port Chester’s rengeneration and address a lack of quality accommodation in the area. The proposed hotel will form part of a large - scale scheme that includes residential, retail and public realm elements.
The hotel is expected to cater to both leisure and business travellers, while supporting wider economic activity through tourism and local spending.
The development led by RMS subsidiary Boston Post Road Owner LLC, will feature a 120 - room hotel alongside 775 residential apartments, 90 independent living units and 110 assisted apartments.
RMS Companies said the scheme will help revitalise the area, creating a mixed - use destination that combines hospitality, housing and community space. The development has received backing through a series of incentives approved by the Port Chester Industrial Development Agency, including tax abatements designed to support long - term investment.
